حصلت "الشرق اليوم" من مصادر جديرة بالثقة على إحصائيات بالأرقام تثبت حجم الإقصاء والتهميش الممارسين ضد مكونة لحراطين داخل مجلس الشيوخ الموريتاني، الذي يعد وكرا من أوكار العنصرية والغبن، وحسب مصادر الشرق اليوم فإن الوظائف الهامة في مجلس الشيوخ التي يتم تعيين اصحابها باقتراح من هرم السلطة لا يوجد منصب واحد يشغله حراطين، حيث يوجد سبعة أعضاء في "الجهاز التنفيذي" بالإضافة إلى رئيس المجلس وجميعهم من شريحتي الزنوج والبيظان، ضف إلى ذلك اللجان الدائمة في مجلس الشيوخ والتي هي ايضا لا توجد أي لجنة من أصل خمسة لجان يرأسها حرطاني
