ذكرت مصادر متطابقة ل"الشرق اليوم" في الجمعية الوطنية أن عملية فساد واسعة النطاق شهدتها الجمعية الوطنية خلال إدارة  رئيسها الحالي محمد ولد ابيليل وأضافت ذات  المصادر أن مبالغ مالية معتبرة اختفت من ميزانية الجمعية الوطنية  دون معرفة وجهتها وأشارت المصادر إلى أن بعض النواب كانوا يريدون توجيه استفسارات لولد ابيليل بخصوص اختفاء المبالغ المالية المعتبرة بيد أن وساطة وقوية حدثت بواسطة نافذين ورجال اعمال لوقف تلك المساعي   

وفي سياق  تذكر النواب مسعود ولد بلخير قائلين(رحم الله الحجاج ما عدله) حيث قام  مسعود ولد بلخير بمنح امتيازات مستحقة لجميع أعضاء الجمعية وعمالها في الوقت الذي احتكر خلفه تلك الامتيازات على بعض خاصته الضيقة
