أشاد مدير أمن الدولة المفوض الإقليمي سيدي ولد باب حسن بدور النظام البيومتري الجديد في موريتانيا ضمن الاستراتيجية الوطنية لمكافحة الإرهاب، مشيرا إلى أنه وفر قاعدة بيانات لجميع الوافدين إلى البلاد وهو ما يمكن من مراقبتهم ومتابعتهم.
وأوضح ولد باب حسن، في مقابلة مع إذاعة موريتانيا، أن الاستراتيجية الموريتانية لمكافحة الإرهاب التي حظيت بتقدير من القوى الإقليمية والدولية ترتكز على عدة مرتكزات.
وأضاف ولد باب حسن أن المرتكز الأمني في الاستراتيجية يعتمد على عنصر الوقاية من نشوء الخلايا عبر التفكيك ومحاربة التهريب والتسلل، وعنصر التدخل الذي هو إنشاء وحدات أمنية عسكرية مسلحة تسليحا يسمح لها بالحركية السريعة لمواجهة هذه الجماعات المسلحة في المنطقة.
كما أشار إلى أن من بين العناصر التي يعتمد عليها المرتكز الأمني في الاستراتيجية عنصر الحماية؛ بمعنى إنشاء طوق أمني على التراب الوطني من خلال تكوين أكثر من 50 وحدة مراقبة ترابية علي الشريط الحدودي.
