قدم وزير الداخلية خلال اجتماع مجلس الوزراء اليوم مشروع مرسوم تضمن مقترحا بدمج أمن الطرق في جهاز الشرطة الوطنية، فيما صادق المجلس على المقترح.
ويُعد جهاز التجمع العام لأمن الطرق شرطة مرور مهمتها الأساسية تنظيم المرور وما يتعلق به، على كافة التراب الوطني ، وذلك طبقا للمادة الثالثة من القانون 032/2010 المتضمن لإنشائه.
كما يساهم أمن الطرق حسب القانون المتضمن إنشاءه التجمع إلى جانب باقي المؤسسات الأمنية والعسكرية في جمع واستغلال ونشر المعلومات التي تتعلق بالأمن، ومحاربة الهجرة السرية، ومحاربة الإرهاب، ومحاربة الاتجار بالمخدرات، والمشاركة في حفظ النظام.
