توفي أربعة أشخاص وجرح 7 على الأقل صباح اليوم الجمعة 03 مارس 2017، في تصادم "باص" وشاحنة مالية عند منطقة "أتويجكجيت" شرق مدينة مقطع لحجار على طريق الأمل.

وقالت مصادر محلية لموقع زهرة شنقيط إن "الباص" كان قادم من ولاية لعصابه، والشاحنة المالية قادمة من العاصمة نواكشوط، حيث حدث التصادم في حدود الواحدة والنصف زوال ما تسبب في مقتل أربعة أشخاص وحرج سبعة على الأقل.

ويعتبر طريق الأمل الرابط بين العاصمة نواكشوط وعدة ولايات داخلية طريقا لحصد الأرواح لأسباب تعود للسرعة المفرطة، وتقعر الطريق وانتشار الألسنة الرملية على جنباته، وتآكل الطريق الأقدم بموريتانيا وسط غياب عمليات الصيانة والترميم.
