قال الرئيس الموريتاني محمد ولد عبد العزيز، إنه على يقين من أن العلاقات بين موريتانيا والولايات المتحدة الأمريكية ستنمو وتتعزز باطراد بدفع من الرئيس الأمريكي المنتخب دولاند ترمب، معربا عن استعداد نواكشوط للتعاون لتطوير هذه العلاقات.

وأضاف ولد عبد العزيز في برقية تهنئة بعث بها لترامب:" مناسبة انتخابكم رئيسا للولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، يسعدني أن أوجه اليكم باسمي الخاص وباسم الحكومة والشعب الموريتانيين،أحر تهنئنا وتمنياتنا لكم بالنجاح في مهمتكم النبيلة".

وخلص للقول:"نحن على يقين أن علاقات الصداقة والتعاون بين موريتانيا والولايات المتحدة الأمريكية ستنمو وتتعزز باطراد بدفع من فخامتكم خدمة للمصلحة المتبادلة للشعبين الصديقين".
