عبرت حركة المقاومة الإسلامية (حماس) عن اعتزازها بالتصريحات الأخيرة للرئيس الموريتانى محمد ولد عبد العزيز بشأن الحراك الإسرائيلى فى افريقيا، مطالبة الرجل باتخاذ المزيد من الخطوات الداعمة للقضية الفلسطينية خلال قيادته للعمل العربى المشترك.

وقال مسؤول العلاقات الخارجية بحركة حماس "أسامه حمدان" فى تصريح صحفى نشر الجمعة 5/8/2016 " لقد تابعنا خلال الأيام الأخيرة تصريحات فخامة الرئيس محمد ولد عبد العزيز، حول الموقف من الكيان الصهيوني، ومحاولاته اختراق إفريقيا، وكذا من رئيس وزراء الكيان الصهيوني، والتي جاءت في سياق مقابلة صحفية، وقبل ذلك خطابه في الدورة السابعة والعشرين للقمة العربية التي استضافتها نواكشوط 25 يوليو 2016، والذي طالب فيه بوقف مسلسل العنف ضد الفلسطينيين، ورفع الحصار الإسرائيلي الظالم عنهم، وإعادة إعمار ما دمره العدوان، مؤكدا أن العالم لن ينعم بالأمن ما لم ينعم به الفلسطينيون".

وأضاف " نحن إذ نهنئ فخامة رئيس الجمهورية الإسلامية الموريتانية محمد ولد عبد العزيز على تصريحاته وخطابه التي تشكل تلاحما مع المواقف المشهودة للشعب الموريتاني بكل مكوناته الوطنية وقواه السياسية والمجتمعية في دعم فلسطين، والوقوف الدائم معها، فإننا نأمل أن تشكل رئاسة موريتانيا للقمة العربية فرصة حقيقية لدعم فعال للشعب الفلسطيني في مقاومته المشروعة، للاحتلال حتى يستعيد أرضه كاملة ويقيم عليها دولته المستقلة وعاصمتها القدس، كل القدس".

وختم بالقول " كما نتطلع لدور موريتاني فعال في إنهاء فوري للحصار، ووقف كامل لكل أشكال التطبيع واستعادة للدور العربي والإسلامي في إفريقيا بما يوقف محاولات التسلل الصهيونية في قارة ظلت دوما نصيرا للعدل ومقاومة للعنصرية والاستيطان والاحتلال".
