خلدت حركة ايرا فرع فرنسا اليوم الوطني لإلغاء الرق في الجمهورية الفرنسية و المصادف للعاشر من شهر مايو و قد تم اختيار مدينة اكس ابروفنس في الجنوب لهذه الاحتفالية و التي بدأت بمسيرة راجلة جابت بعض الشوارع الرئيسية في المدينة بحضور أعضاء المكتب التنفيذي و منسق ايرا في أوربا السيد عابدين ولد مرزوك وقد حمل المتظاهرون شعارات منددة بإستمرار العبودية بشتى أشكالها في موريتانيا و مطالبين في الوقت ذاته بالإفراج عن داعية حقوق الإنسان رئيس حركة ايرا برام ولد الداه ولد اعبيد و نائبه إبراهيم ولد بلال الموجودان في السجن منذ 11 نوفمبر 2014. كما توالت بعد ذلك عدة أنشطة تحسيسية شهدت إقبالا كبيرا من الساكنة المحلية التي عبرت عن صدمتها و امتعاضها من وجود مثل هذه الظاهرة المشينة في موريتانيا إلى حد الآن في عالم حر لم يعد فيه مقام لأصحاب الفكر الاستغلالي المنحط الذي يدوس على حقوق و كرامة البشر. هذا وقد تم الغاء الرق نهائيا في فرنسا و الجزر التابعة لها في 27 أبريل 1848. مكتب ايرا فرنسا
