فاز عمدة بلدية الرياض، بالعاصمة أنواكشوط، السيد/ الشيخ ولد معط ، بجائزة شخصية لعام 2015م وذلك  تثمينا لجهوده على  الإخلاص في العمل، والمثابرة.

العمدة تم تكريمه من قبل منظمة"شكرا" غير الحكومية،  وذلك بحضور العديد،  من الشخصيات وممثلي المنظمات العاملة في مجال العمل التطوعي الإنساني.

والجدير بالذكر أن الشيخ ولد معط ، قيادي بارز بحزب الاتحاد من أجل الجمهورية الحاكم ، ويتمتع بعلاقات سياسية طيبة،  ويحظى باحترام في الأوساط الشعبية،  حيث استطاع الفوز بمنصب العمدة في مقاطعة الرياض،  المحسوبة على المعارضة التقليدية، وحركة ايرا ، التي يقطن رئيسها في المقاطعة المذكورة.
